ARRIVING AT OUR FACILITY...

Your experience begins as you arrive at Chicagoland Aviation headquarters, located in the Executive Terminal at the Lewis University Airport. As you enter the building you realize that this Flight School is different, a modern facility with all the amenities and professional but personable staff members to greet you, your nerves are calmed. This is going to be a special experience!

MEETING YOUR FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR...

As you relax in our lobby, while enjoying a cup of coffee, your aircraft is prepared and flight dispatched. Your experienced Flight Instructor, an accomplished pilot who is dedicated to ensuring you enjoy your flight, meets with you to discuss sights that you would like to see from the air.

INSPECTING THE AIRCRAFT...

From the lobby you are led to your aircraft, located only steps away from our facility. Your Flight Instructor provides you an overview of a preflight inspection, noting areas that were inspected earlier when the Instructor performed a thorough preflight. Your Flight Instructor then explains the basic controls used to guide the aircraft through the air. In just a few minutes you will use these controls to maneuver the aircraft over the skies of Chicago, piloting an aircraft for the first time.

FINDING ALL THE SWITCHES...

As you settle into the aircraft, your Flight Instructor ensures that your seat is in the proper position and familiarizes you with the cockpit of the aircraft. Your Flight Instructor at this time explains some key elements of flying an aircraft by visual references. After this explanation the doors are closed, engine started, and you begin to taxi the aircraft to the departure runway under the guidance of your Flight Instructor.

CONDUCTING THE FINAL TAKEOFF CHECKS...

As you reach the end of the runway, the aircraft is put through its final safety checks. At the completion of the before takeoff checklist, the aircraft is taxiied onto the runway and lined up with the runway centerline. It's time to fly!

TAKING TO THE AIR...

Full engine power is applied and the aircraft begins to accelerates down the runway to a takeoff speed of 65 mph. As this speed is reached the aircraft wheels gently leave the runway pavement. You are now airborne, on an adventure that only a fraction of the population has experienced, the unrestricted freedom of flying in a General Aviation aircraft.

SOARING OVER CHICAGO...

As you fly 2,000 feet in the air above the Southwest Suburbs of Chicago, you enjoy the spectacular view that can only be experienced by flying in a General Aviation aircraft. The City of Chicago, Chicagoland Speedway, I&M Canal, and the vast Southwest Suburbs are just a few of the many sights you'll see and the view is only half the experience. The remainder is the thrill you get from controlling the airplane through climbs, turns and descents. Under the guidance of your Flight Instructor, you will learn the basics of piloting an aircraft through the sky. During the 30 minute flight you realize that earning your Private Pilot Certificate no longer has to be a dream. With dedication you can be a Pilot within a few months, experiencing the unrestricted freedom of traveling in a General Aviation aircraft.

PHOTOGRAPHING THE SMILE...

As you exit the airplane, Chicagoland Aviation staff will be there to photograph you, your Flight Instructor, and your Airplane. This photo will be sent to you via email, so you can share it along with all the stories from the flight with your friends and family.

LEAVING WITH MEMORIES THAT WILL LAST A LIFETIME...

As you leave Chicagoland Aviation, you take with you a logbook and memories of a very unique experience. The logbook certifies the flight training session, allowing it to count towards the flight hour requirements for a Private Pilot Certificate. The memories of the flight and the professional Chicagoland Aviation Staff are what we hope allows us to take you flying again!
