Our mission at Chicagoland Aviation is to develop you into the most competent, skilled and proficient pilot. We do not educate our clients to the minimum training standards. Rather, we ensure you have the knowledge, experience, and confidence to enjoy General Aviation safely with your friends and family. Fast track programs and flight schools focused on only meeting the minimum training standards produce pilots that lack real-world flight experience. At Chicagoland Aviation we tailor our training programs to you, providing training pertinent to your future use of a pilot certificate. While training with Chicagoland Aviation our clients are exposed to scenario-based training, structured training events based on realistic flights, which develop their aeronautical decision-making. Our training programs are unique, as they combine the quality of professional pilot training with the enjoyment and freedom of General Aviation. This training style ensures that our clients are provided the best education while continually enhancing their passion for General Aviation. TRAINING PROGRAMS

Our Training Programs are developed from Part 61 of the Federal Aviation Regulations, allowing us to customize a training program to each of our clients. The majority of your training will occur on a one-on-one basis between yourself and one of our Flight Instructors. We will assist you in meeting each of our Flight Instructors, so that you can select the best Flight Instructor for you. Our programs are not restricted to set class schedules, allowing you to train as frequently as you are able. We also do not sell our programs as a package, so there is no large upfront commitment. Rather, we operate on a pay as you go basis, allowing our clients to only pay for the training that we have provided. All of our unique training program characteristics combine to create the most client-focused Flight School, Chicagoland Aviation.

AIRCRAFT

Our fleet of aircraft has something for everyone from the first time flyer to the advanced General Aviation Pilot. We continually add quality aircraft to our fleet, providing our clients a diverse aircraft selection. Our aircraft remain in immaculate condition due to their hangar storage during hazardous weather and our progressive aircraft detailing procedures.

FLIGHT INSTRUCTORS

Our Flight Instructors are some of the most qualified educators. All possess a positive attitude and a commitment to ensuring your aviation goals are achieved. Chicagoland Aviation holds regular Flight Instructor meetings in order to ensure that we provide a consistent first class education to our clients. Armed with real world aeronautical experience, our Flight Instructors will provide valuable flight training while enhancing your enjoyment of aviation and the freedom of flight.

LOCATION

Our location at the Lewis University Airport provides the perfect platform for flight training and your future use of a General Aviation aircraft. Our airport is highlighted by two large runways, a north-south and east-west configuration, allowing you to land in the most favorable wind conditions rather than being forced to land in strong crosswinds at single runway airports. This nearly eliminates flight training session cancellations for high crosswinds, allowing you to achieve your flight training goals on schedule. The size of the runways at Lewis University Airport provides an excellent learning environment to improve your piloting skills without feeling overwhelmed by short narrow runways. For those more advanced pilots, our airport has the infrastructure in place to allow landings during low cloud ceiling and reduced visibility conditions. Lewis University Airport can safely handle all your operational needs from your first training flight to the operation of a high performance aircraft during poor weather conditions.

MAINTENANCE

Our maintenance company, Chicagoland Aviation Maintenance, ensures our aircraft are maintained to the highest FAA safety standards by experienced FAA certified Airframe & Powerplant Mechanics. Our clients are provided a unique educational opportunity, through being able to observe and inquire with personable Aircraft Mechanics. Our aircraft are regularly inspected every 100 operating hours to keep them in excellent mechanical condition. In addition we further comply with our aircraft manufacturer's recommended service bulletins, a Chicagoland Aviation signature to ensure we operate the highest quality rental aircraft.

CHICAGOLAND AVIATION FLYING CLUB

Chicagoland Aviation is a Part 61 Flight School operating in conjunction with a Flying Club. Our Flight School provides the General public with Flight Instruction and Aircraft Rental Services. Our Flying Club offers members a social and educational club with monthly meetings and special aviation events that enhance their aeronautical knowledge. Flying Club members are provided significant incentives at our Flight School, including a 10% discount on all our Products and Services including Aircraft Rental.

PRICING

Our aircraft pricing is based on Tach Time usage by our clients. This method of measuring aircraft use saves on average 30% as compared to Hobbs Time based measuring. Tach Time is a measurement of the hours that the aircraft's engine was at a high power setting. At lower power settings, such as during flight training, Tach Time is significantly slower than actual time. Hobbs Time is a measurement of the hours that the aircraft's battery was turned on, which is based off a normal rate of time. Since our costs as an aircraft operator are based off of Tach Time usage on the aircraft, we pass those costs on to our clients with the same Tach Time based measurement. This provides our clients a more efficient and fair method of measuring their aircraft usage.

SCHEDULING

Chicagoland Aviation in cooperation with GenAv Systems, creator of the Flight Office scheduling software program, provides clients with complete online scheduling of Aircraft and Flight Instructors. Our online scheduling program in conjunction with 24/7/365 availability of Aircraft and Flight Instructors allows you to create training and rental reservations that best fit your busy schedule. This scheduling flexibility demonstrates that Chicagoland Aviation is truly a Flight School designed around your needs and goals.
